Find the right place for your painting

Oil paintings can be an important element of an interior and a source of inspiration if they are properly cared for. They are resistant, but still require special treatment so as not to lose the brightness of colours and details. In this article we will consider the main recommendations that will help to preserve the beauty of an oil painting for many years.

Avoid direct sunlight. Constant exposure to sunlight can cause the colours to fade and damage the canvas. Place paintings in places where light falls indirectly.

Optimum humidity and temperature. Oil paintings are sensitive to fluctuations in humidity and temperature. Ideal humidity is around 55% and temperature around 18-20°C. 

Avoid rooms with high humidity (e.g. bathroom) and places that are too dry.Avoid places near heaters and air conditioners. Being too close to a radiator or air conditioner can dry out the colours and cause them to crack.

Proper placement of an oil painting has a significant impact on its preservation and longevity. By following these recommendations, you will be able to create ideal conditions for your artwork, ensuring its preservation and the joy of contemplation for many years to come.
