A few decades ago, crystal tableware was a very lucrative financial investment. Nowadays, however, I view it as a work of art, which looks spectacular in my composition of an oil painting. Looking at crystal decanters and goblets gives me great pleasure. Their subtle patterns and the play of light are captured with inspiration in my new oil sketch. In this case it is a monochrome work. Intentionally avoiding bright colours, nothing distracts from the shapes and the play of highlights. Crystal is unlikely to return to fashion again, but this sketch will nostalgically tell the viewer about a bygone era.

The painting is authentic and original.

Oil paints based on natural pigments were used. Damar varnish and linseed oil were added.

The base is 300g/m2 paper primed with acrylic paste. Paper sheet size 17.5"x12.5"in with white borders around the perimeter. Outline dimensions 17.0"x12.0"in excluding white borders (see additional photos). Framing and wall fixing elements not included.

The technique of painting is author's. The layers of paint are thick. Varnish for the top coat is not used.

It is possible to print.
